Maybank made
record profits of RM 3.82 billion in its latest financial year (FYE Jun 10).What a contrast from a year ago, when the country biggest bank had to make huge provisioning on its pricey acquisitions, the most controversial being the purchase of Bank Internasional Indonesia (BII).
Hmm..now we can look the Indonesian operations is now seen as the Maybank's next growth story. Congratulations Maybank :P
CIMB
Same in operations but different in strategy, CIMB come no 2 largest bank in Malaysia behind Maybank. However, CIMB look more stable in profits growth and its show in last financial report where latest net profits RM 3.05b (FYE 09/10) compare to RM 2.01b (FYE 08/09) before. here some of the CIMB operations around the world.
